My Favorite DIY Cleaner

Hey everybody! Happy Valentine’s Day!
I wanted to hop on quick and share with you my favorite DIY cleaner. It’s super easy plus it’s natural so I don’t mind using it around my little one.
What you need:
⁃ mason jar
⁃ Lemons, oranges, limes, or cuties
⁃ Vinegar
⁃ Spray bottle
So very simple, you can just use peels from the fruit above. I don’t always use peels. I will sometimes just cut them in half, squeeze out the juice, and throw them into a mason jar. Then you top the mason jar with vinegar and let that sit for about 2 weeks. If it sits longer no big deal! I’ve sometimes let it sit for a month. When it’s ready, I use a funnel and a tea strainer to strain out any pulp because this will plug up your spray bottle eventually. It’s a 1:1 ratio of the lemon, vinegar solution and water. Then just use it in place of your disinfectant cleaner. I use this for everything now!! I have one in the bathroom and one in my kitchen. I love it and you will too!! So easy, smells nice, and it’s safe for your little ones! I also love the cute jar of lemons in my kitchen. 🍋
I also use this solution for mopping my floors. I always have a jar full so I never run out, but I also don’t always use the whole jar of the vinegar solution in my spray bottle (I use 16oz bottles) so I pour the extra into a spare bottle.
When I go to mop I use:
⁃ 1/8-1/4cup of the lemon, vinegar solution
⁃ 1/8 cup of mineral oil
⁃ 1/2 tsp of dawn dish soap
I love the mineral oil only because I feel like it makes my floor feel nice 😂 Now I have linoleum floors so I’m not sure how that would work with different floors. I do believe it would be fine on tile, because my mom just uses a little bit of vinegar to mop her tile. Maybe just use the lemon, vinegar solution to be on the safe side. I’m just not sure about wood so double check first, because I would hate for it to ruin your wood floors!!
Thank you to my mother-in-law Celeste for sharing this Pinterest find with me!
Thanks for reading!! Hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day! ❤️
